Patterend after an English cutlass from the early 1700's the
Privateer Cutlass features a fullered blade showing bronze
heat-color in the scottish style, engraved shell-guard with
decorative brass rivets, forged scroll on the wrist-guard and
a thumb-ring. All hilt fittings are hand forged and polished steel.
The grip is hand carved with the same pattern as the shell-guard
from teak that was taken from a speargun used in saltwater, and is
inlayed with brass studs.
