This is the type of sling used by the famous slingers on the Balearic Islands. It is made form sisal twine, with mutiple pieces of twine for each strand in the 5-strand braids, and additional strands are added on either side of the pouch. Often, Balearic slings are braided with loose fibers, and the increase in thickness of the braids is done by adding more fiber into each strand. The method I used is easier, and is sometimes used on the islands.
