Instructions for a 6-strand Round Braid #2

This braid has more radial symmetry than the other 6-strand round braid, but it too is not completely round, being somewhat elliptical in cross section. It is made very similarly with only one small difference.

The first step is to take the outside right-hand strand, and bring it around behind the other right hand strands. Bring it also behind the inside left-hand strand and then up and around that strand before bringing it back to the right hand as shown by the arrow. Place it to the inside of the other right-hand strands.

Now take the outside left-hand strand and pass it behind the other left-hand strands, but unlike the first step, bring it behind the inside and middle right-hand strands. Then bring it up, around and back to the left hand, keeping it to the inside of the other left-hand strands.

Here both steps have been done, and these two steps are repeated for the rest of the braid.

Here is what a short length of the braid looks like.

"So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone..." I Samuel 17:50
